South Mobile

designed by South Expeditions

A new way to explore Chile’s vineyards and countryside.

Chile

The South Mobile is a unique pedal-electric vehicle designed to explore vineyards and countryside in a completely new way. Inspired by the elegant lines of a 1950s Ferrari, it combines human power and electric assistance to create a smooth, silent, and environmentally responsible experience.

Designed for two passengers, each rider pedals at their own rhythm while enjoying a comfortable and intuitive driving system with a steering wheel, making the experience natural and easy. Built from lightweight aviation aluminum and powered by a 3500-watt motor, South Mobile can travel on quiet rural roads and even railway lines, opening routes rarely explored by traditional vehicles.

More than a vehicle, South Mobile is a new way to travel—active, elegant, and connected to the landscape.

Technical Specifications

The South Mobile is a purpose-built, hybrid pedal-electric vehicle designed to deliver a distinctive, low-impact travel experience while meeting high standards of performance, safety, and reliability. Conceptualized, engineered, and patented in-house, it is a one-of-a-kind vehicle not found anywhere else in the market.

Design & Engineering
Constructed with an aviation-grade duralumin frame and a fiberglass body, the vehicle offers an optimal balance between strength and lightweight efficiency (120 lb), ensuring durability across varied conditions.

Capacity & Ride Configuration
The two-seat layout allows for independent pedaling and gearing, enhancing both comfort and flexibility for riders. The vehicle supports a maximum payload of 440 lb.

Preformance
Equipped with a 3500 W hub motor and a 63 V lithium battery system, the South Mobile reaches speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h). In electric-only mode, it delivers a range of approximately 40–45 miles, depending on terrain and load, with an average energy consumption of 30 Wh per mile.

Sustainability
Charging is supported through solar-powered stations, aligning operations with low-emission, environmentally responsible travel practices.

Terrain Versatility
A dual-mode wheel system enables operation on both secondary paved roads and railway tracks, allowing for unique route design and expanded itinerary possibilities.

Ergonomics & Safety
The vehicle accommodates riders between 146–200 cm (4.8–6.6 ft) and is equipped with essential safety features, including seat belts, front and rear signal lights, and a rearview mirror.
