South Expeditions was born from that belief in 1992, when we completed the first raft descent of the Upano and Namangoza rivers in the Ecuadorian Amazon. What began as a bold expedition became the foundation of a company dedicated to discovering new ways of traveling—beyond the conventional and closer to the true essence of exploration.

For more than three decades, we have followed remote trails, navigated little-explored rivers, and created journeys that connect travelers with landscapes, cultures, and people in meaningful ways.
