DAY 2 - Yaquil Route

After a night at the country hotel, you will enjoy breakfast before departing to meet your Southmobile which will be your vehicle for the next three days!

Our guide will offer you a talk about the use of the pedaling system and the assistance of the electric motor. Once you are familiar with the Southmobile, you will travel at your own pace along secondary asphalt roads until you reach the first stop: Laura Hartwig's Vineyard. It is relatively new and familiar in the very center of Santa Cruz. It has 80 hectares of grape production destined to create their wines. One of them Laura, is a mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot that are the favorite wines of the family members.

You will visit the vineyards and learn about the characteristics of the terroir, and of course, you will be lucky to be able to taste some of their best wines. Then you will continue pedaling in your car for 5 miles until you reach the second stop: The kitchen of Casa Higuera chef' Maira Ramos. Her kitchen is mutating and adapting to the places where she lives, using seasonal products and small producers. For Maira, it is interesting when someone tries a dish, and it's an explosion of flavors that generates feelings. Everything she prepares creates an emotion. Her cuisine is the immense love for the seasons, their products, travel, and fire. She will be glad to open the doors of her house.

After visiting and learning about the traditional agriculture of the Colchagua Valley, you will continue to the hotel to relax and enjoy the landscape of the countryside.

With the direction of our guides, you will carry out some activities that will bring more than a smile to visitors and kids.

Just two miles away is located Neyen. Tourists are welcomed in the visitor center by the winery's host, who will guide them to the nineteenth-century vines that give birth to Neyen. Throughout the tour, you will learn the basics of viticulture and learn how to differentiate types of leaves, conduction systems, and vineyard characteristics. The second stage is the extraordinary winery, where you will learn the winemaking process of this fine wine.

The visit concludes at the 1890 cellar, the oldest in the Apalta Valley, with the tasting of Neyen, Spirit of Apalta. Perhaps it is one of the most attractive vineyards for its Feng Shui-style construction that blends harmoniously with the surrounding hills of the beautiful Apalta Valley. In 2020 it has been nominated as the best vineyard in Chile and the fourth in the world by the World's Best Vineyards Awards.

In the afternoon, you will visit The Fuegos de Apalta restaurant which will give you the chance to experience the essence of the renowned chef Francis Mallmann and his kitchen of fires, from wood to embers, harvesting the products that will be cooked in the garden. Lunch will be at a table among the vineyards, where you will be able to enjoy a menu 100% on fire with the outstanding Montes wines.

DAY 4 - Viu Manent

Today you will continue your 2.5-mile drive to Food & Wine Studio by Pilar Rodriguez. From her studio located in the middle of vines at Viña Viu Manent, you can enjoy famous combinations with contemporary Chilean flavors that she has presented around the world to learn a little more about combinations between wine and food. Pilar Rodríguez, an international Chilean chef, recognized for "make the wine shine through food" after studying cooking at the exclusive Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris in 2003, returned to their colchagüinas lands.

Upon arrival, she decided to show the diversity and beauty of Chile through its gastronomy. Thus, through pairing menus, was gaining the respect of recognized wineries, and Viu Manent winery offered her space - her current kitchen workshop - to develop this avant-garde proposal. She decided to have the best and most diverse Chilean ingredients in her studio, which with their producers have been cultivating, discovering, and diversifying their gastronomic offer. Today she invites us to live a great experience from the garden to the plate, to cook from her area through balanced and clean flavors that enhance the wines in a more contemporary format.
