We believe that one of the reasons for our success, without a doubt, is that we work with the best certified guides in the industry. They are all talented, well prepared, and experienced individuals and most importantly, they love what they do, which is reflected in their work and ultimately in the atmosphere of the trips.

 

Our guides take care of everything during your trip; from coordinating your transportation, checking you into hotels, leading the way on our sports trips and much more.

 

Most of them are in their 30s and balance their love of travel and adventure with family life. Each of them has special skills and interests that contribute to making each trip unique and special.

 


 

Tomas Palma
Tomás Palma:

 

Tomas was born in Quito and has been a tour guide for over 15 years. He is married and has 3 young children aged 10, 5, 3 that share his passion for adventure sports and nature. He loves being outdoors and knows a lot about the different types of birds and plants in Ecuador. He loves adventures sports such as hiking and kayaking and he is passionate about motorcycles and mountain biking. On his free time he always tries to find new routes and fun places where he go with his Enduro motorcycle. Tomas is fluent in English and Italian.

 


 

Sebastian Jurado Sebastian Jurado:

 

Sebastian was born in Quito and he lived there until he moved to Santiago de Chile to get his bachelor’s degree in Tourism Studies. When he graduated, he traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada for over a year. After his trip, he moved back to Ecuador where he started to work as a tour guide for a couple of years. After that, he moved to Costa Rica to work in an Environmental Education Project for the Tourism Industry. When he finished the project, he lived in Peru, where he participated in a Master’s program in Environmental Management and Social Development. From that point on, he moved back to his native country where he has continued to pursue his passion for traveling working with us.

 


 

Henry Teran Henry Teran:

 

Henry is a licensed Travel Guide with over 17 years of experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and an Associates degree in Tourism Studies. Some of his best childhood memories are from the camping trips that his older brother took him to while he was growing up; these trips motivated him to become a travel guide. Thirty years later, he still has a passion for adventure travel; a passion which he shares with his wife, who used to work in the Tourism Industry as well, and with his 3 year old daughter Carolina.

Henry is fluent in English and Spanish, he has traveled extensively through North and South America and knows a lot about Latin American culture and it’s history. Henry loves natural history and can name most of the species of birds in Ecuador. He also loves adventure sports specially kayaking, hiking and rafting. Music has always been an important part of his life and in his free time he likes to play the guitar. His special personality makes it very easy for him to relate with people from different backgrounds especially with children.

Henry believes in making the most out of every day and he loves the fact that every day in his job is different and allows him to meet interesting people and learn new things every day.

 


 

Eduardo Borja Eduardo Borja:

 

Eduardo went to the American School in Quito. He always loved to travel and did so extensively during while he was growing up. When he graduated from high school he took a tour guide’s course, which introduced him to the tourism industry and then moved to North Carolina where he studied Hotel and Restaurant Management. When he came back to Ecuador, he worked for a Tour Operator for a few years where he learned the “behind the scenes” aspects of the industry but then decided that he really liked being in the field, meeting new people, and exploring the wonders of his native country with them.

Eduardo loves adventure sports; he enjoys hiking, snorkeling, mountain biking, horseback riding, sea kayaking, and white water rafting.

 


 

Andres Trujillo 

Andres Trujillo:

 

A  knowledgeable guide with a background in Ecology and tourism, he  has a decade of experience guiding in the country, began guiding in the amazon rain forest as a naturalist and then as a bird guide, after some years he became a freelance guide covering the country doing galapagos, amazon, cloud forests, and the andes region. Likes birdwatching, diving, kayaking, and rock climbing. But prefers moving around to different areas and going to new places all the time. Currently playing the drums with a band something he enjoys doing the most.

 


 

Diana Rivera 

Diana Rivera:

 

Diana Rivera was born in Quito and has been our mentor for eight years. She is a professional artist, teacher and kundalini yoga instructor, and uses these experiences and skills when designing fun activities for kids, teenagers and the whole family. She loves games, languages (English, German, French and Spanish), culture and nature. She is involved in collaborative art projects, film festivals and film workshops with vulnerable communities in remote areas of the country. She loves to share her passion for Ecuadorian culture, landscapes and people. Her artwork has been shown in more than 40 exhibits in Latin America, North America and Europe. For Diana, art, teaching and yoga are possibilities to build bridges between human beings, to become aware, to think and practice more fair and fun ways of living.

 


 

Juan Sotomayor 

Juana Sotomayor:

 

My name is Juana sotomayor, I'm married and I have 2 kids. We live in a valley close to the city of quito where we enjoy the andean country side. I've been working as a tour guide for the last 6 years, leading different kinds of trips. I work as a menthor for family tours, tour leader for multisport trips, and sea kayak guide in the Galapagos Islands where I work all year around. When I'm not traveling I like to spend time with my family and practice rock climbing at the volcanoes on the Andes.

 


 

Natalia Rivera 

Natalia Rivera:

 

"Tour guide for more than 10 years of experience. Natalia has a degree in Ecotourism and Education. Her interests include sea kayaking, snorkeling, trekking, ornithology, anthropology and environmental education. While Natalia is not guiding she is exploring Ecuador with her husband and son who share her passion for nature and training local guides in rural communities. At the moment she is deepen her knowledge of birds through Cornell University."

Marco Castro:

 

Marco has been in the guiding for over 15 years. He started like everybody else doing short tours around Quito, and after a few years, he begun working with larger companies, which allowed him to do longer tours around Ecuador, his native country, and Peru. Marco grew up in a country house with surrounded by horses, which explains why he loves horseback riding. When he was 15, he bought his first mountain bike, and now mountain biking is one of his favorite hobbies. He loves birds and has spent a lot of time learning about the different species in Ecuador. Marco is married and has two lovely girls, Maria Emilia who is eight years old and very well behaved, and Isabel who is three and jumps around all day like a monkey!

 


 

  

Alejandra Mosquera:

 

Alejandra was born in Quito 28 years ago. She has had a passion for traveling all her life, and when she graduated from school, she decided to major in tourism to have the opportunity to travel around her country and show it to guests who come to South America. She has always enjoyed being outdoors and loves animals and nature. Alejandra has been a tour guide for over 5 years; she has always loved photography and has an extensive collection of digital pictures of from all of her trips. She loves adventure sports such as rafting, hiking, horseback riding and biking. In the days in which she gets to stay home after her trips, she spends a lot of time reading.
